1. What cookies are

This policy applies to jailrosterhub.com, operated by the Jail Roster Hub team in the United States. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

Cookies are small text files that a website or service stores in a browser. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, local storage, and identifiers sent with a page or ad request. They can remember a preference, help protect a session, count visits, measure an ad, or recognize a browser when it returns.

A cookie does not automatically tell us your name. Its practical effect depends on the service that sets it, the information linked to it, your browser settings, and the choices you make.

First-party cookies are associated with the site you visit; third-party cookies are associated with another provider’s domain. Session cookies normally expire when the browsing session ends. Persistent cookies remain until their expiry date or until you delete them. Browser protections may shorten that lifetime.

The descriptions below explain each service’s role. Cookies vary with the page, provider settings, consent, and browser; not every visit involves every technology described here. A page request or a search URL is not itself a cookie.

Analytics cookie examples: Google documents _ga for distinguishing browsers and _ga_<container-id> for session state, with a default lifetime of two years. Configuration and browser limits can shorten this. These are provider examples, not a guarantee that both cookies are stored on your device. See Google Analytics cookie documentation.

4. Google advertising cookies

Google advertising cookies may be used to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this site or other websites. Google and its partners may use associated information to personalize ads, report campaign performance, avoid showing the same ad repeatedly, and protect advertising systems from fraud and abuse.

You can turn off personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can also review participating vendors and choices through YourAdChoices. These controls affect advertising personalization; they do not stop every non-personalized or contextual ad.

5. Your choices and consent

You can block, delete, or limit cookies through your browser. If a consent banner or privacy settings panel is shown, use it to allow or refuse optional purposes and revisit your choice. Reading this policy or continuing to browse is not, by itself, consent to optional cookies.

1. Review or clear site data: open your browser’s privacy settings, find cookies or site data, and search for jailrosterhub.com. Review third-party provider entries separately.
2. Limit future cookies: change the browser’s cookie or tracking protection settings. Clearing cookies alone does not prevent a provider from setting new ones on a later visit.
3. Manage Google advertising: use Ads Settings. Turning off personalization does not mean all advertising cookies or ads disappear.
4. Manage Google Analytics: on supported desktop browsers, use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. It does not block other services or ordinary server logs.

Browser controls generally apply to that browser and device, so review each device you use. Clearing site data may reset a saved consent choice. Cookie choices do not change the public records shown on a county page.

A policy page is not a consent tool. Where consent is required, optional technologies need the appropriate controls before use. Changing a browser setting or an advertising preference does not erase information already held by an independent provider. Use that provider’s controls or contact us about information handled by our team.

6. Third-party sites and public sources

County, sheriff, jail, detention, court, map, and other linked services are operated by organizations outside Jail Roster Hub. They may set their own cookies, use analytics, or request consent after you follow a link. Their policies and choices control what happens there.
