1. What we publish

Jail Roster Hub is an independent directory of public county jail and inmate-information pages. A county page may describe the information available there, show limited context about a listing, and link you to the responsible agency.

The directory is designed to help you find the right starting point. It is not a replacement for the county’s own records, notices, search tools, or decisions.

2. Our source standard

We prioritize publicly available pages published by the responsible county, sheriff, jail, detention, or court agency. A county page should make the relevant official destination easy to identify so you can continue to the source of record.

We do not treat a directory description, a search result, or an outside summary as stronger than the official agency’s own information. When a public page is unclear or unavailable, the county page may show less information rather than present an unsupported conclusion.

Source of record

The agency linked from the relevant county page controls its own records, publication schedule, corrections, and current status.

3. How to read update information

Dates and update labels on a county page tell you when the directory page or its visible information was last reviewed or refreshed in the context shown there. They help you judge how much time may have passed since the page was checked.

An update date is not a guarantee that the county record is current at the moment you visit, and it does not mean that every underlying field changed on that date. Always check the official page for time-sensitive details.

Different counties publish on different schedules. Availability, response time, and update timing can vary without notice.

For custody, charges, bond, visitation, release, or court matters, use the official agency link and confirm the current detail.

5. Why a page may look different

County pages can be redesigned, moved, temporarily unavailable, limited to certain date ranges, or changed to show fewer fields. A county may also publish a page that requires its own search or directs visitors to another official system.

These changes can affect what a directory page can describe. A blank result or missing field is not proof that an event did not happen or that a person is not in custody.

6. When to use the official source

Use the official agency for current custody status, charges, bond, release, visitation, court dates, identity confirmation, sealed or expunged records, and any question with legal, personal, or financial consequences.

Jail Roster Hub cannot change an agency’s record, interpret a court order, confirm a person’s identity, or provide emergency assistance. See our Data Notes for additional limits.

7. Report a source or update issue

If a page has a broken link, wrong county, outdated description, or missing context, send the exact URL and a concise explanation. Include an official replacement page when one is available.
